Learn to listen to your student (the #1 complaint I hear from students is that they don't feel heard or that their parents don't listen). Stop what you are doing and make time to hear your student today.
Go on a mission trip with your student (the younger you start the better).
Have a date with your student at least once a month (more to develop and maintain a better and more consistent relationship with them).
Pray WITH them.
Pray FOR them all the time.
Ask them if there is anything you can pray for them about.
Take vacations together.
Go with them to do something they like to do. Have fun!
Develop rights of passage.
Do a devotional with your student at least once a week (more than once to have a greater impact in your student's life).
Let your students see you praying.
Let your students see you spending time in the Word of God.
Share with your student what you learned today through an experience or through your time in the Word.
Play a board game together.
Get in the kitchen and prepare a meal together.
Purchase a Wii gaming system (very fun and interactive...a very different way of playing video games).
