Dear 5th Grade Parents,
I can’t tell you how excited I am that your child is a part of our ministry, and our 5th grade class. Your child is being blessed with some of the most awesome leaders that I’ve ever had the privilege to work with. They are: Kaitlin Staples, Lauren Sibley, Trampas Sibley, and other great volunteers. Wow!!! What a team!!
Our 5th graders have managed to arrive at the fortunate rank of 5th grade. They are looked upon with envy from the lower grades. They share special privileges that no other group has. Some of these privileges include a classroom with couches and chairs, wild décor, and their very own fridge and snack box!! I know what you are thinking: 5th grade has come a long way since you were there!
Another opportunity that is privy to 5th grade only is the “guide" position. We’ve worked out a plan for our 5th grade students to serve in our ministry in this capacity. I believe that our children should feel that they are needed as an important part of the body, so they are serving at our Welcome Desk on Sunday mornings. I choose 5th graders at my discretion during the morning. The make-up of the team on any given Sunday morning usually consists of the boys and girls who arrive early enough to help out. (Children will not be allowed to choose who they work with, as they learn the importance of working with everyone in God’s service!) Their “job” is to assist K-5th graders as they check in and out KIDZ INC. Special t-shirts are provided for them to wear on their day of service.
I pray that all our 5th graders will be involved in this project, but as always, parents will be able to make the choice to allow their child to be involved, with this hands-on learning experience. If you choose not to allow your child to participate please e-mail me at csibley@istrouma.org. If I don’t hear from you, I will assume it is okay to include your child.
Throughout the year there will be events for our 5th graders such as 5th grade retreat and luncheons for 5th grade families. You will want to check back from time to time to stay informed.
If you have questions or comments please contact me at 295-0775 ext.146, or email me at csibley@istrouma.org.
Thank you so very much for allowing me the awesome privilege of working with your child. God has so blessed my life with families like yours. Have a blessed day in the Lord!
Cheryl
