Navajo Mission Team 2007
The 1st week of June found Team Navajo ready to begin their journey with trucks & trailers, cars, and a motor home. Murphy’s Law was in full effect as gas prices were out of sight, and the motor home had to be left in the shop in a little town in Texas. With travel mayhem like this they just knew it was going to be a great trip!

As soon as the team got to the Navajo reservation and out to the church where every one was sleeping and working another surprise awaited them….NO WATER! So, 15 minutes after arriving from a 2 day travel journey the construction team had to hook up water, for the team to be able to cook, shower, and have bathrooms, by installing a brand new water line from the well into the church. They also tied in water lines to the church’s restrooms and kitchen…which had to be done that week anyway, along with a new hot water heater in the kitchen. This was all done in the first few hours of the team’s arrival.
The first week was spent working on the church and pastor’s home remodeling and repairing by installing new windows, leveling the sanctuary floor, building a
new platform and altar, repairing the ceiling, and installing acoustical materials, and installed a beautiful brand new outdoor sign. A medical team passed out meds, vitamins, and provided Diabetes screening, as well. The team gave out food, and special hi-protein pasta for the poor Navajo families, as well. A VBS was conducted both weeks the team was there on the reservation and the lord blessed with over 30 children and adults accepting Christ as their Savior. The physical needs of the Navajo are very serious. An 18-wheeler from Baton Rouge delivered needed winter clothes, food, and other supplies to help Indian families. The reservation is a third world country spanning several western states.

Pray for the new converts and for the churches there in the Navajo region. Thank God for the 26 folks who went from IBC and the other church from Kansas that co-labored with Istrouma to reach Navajo with the Good news of Jesus.
