Istrouma Reaching Out to the Little Children’s Project
Beautiful hand crocheted baby afghans and blankets, pink sweaters and caps, little jackets and jeans, baby products, and developmental toys of all sorts and sizes, and mom gifts included Spiritual jewelry and Spiritual devotional books, these were just a few of the many items that were presented to the babies and moms who came in the month of November to the Outpatient clinic at the Woman’s Hospital under the direction of Istrouma member, Dr. Charlotte Hollman.

During the month of November, 2007, over fifty gifts were presented to the babies and parents who visit the Outpatient Clinic at Woman’s Hospital. Each gift was paired with the children who were newborns up to two years of age. Each gift contained donated items from Istrouma members. Items donated included baby items of creams, lotions, powders, clothing, toys, for the children and a devotional book and a piece of jewelry for the mothers. It was a joy to see the mother’s faces as they accepted these gifts of love as we truly reached out in love to these unique families who have experienced a great trial of having a newborn who had to be in the neonatal intensive care unit of the hospital. Some of the children (even those who weighed only a few pounds at birth) were doing fine while others are still on oxygen and feeding tubes and will be under doctor’s care and monitored for months to come. Thanks Istrouma for your support of this special local mission’s project. Special thanks to the Istrouma Women’s Ministry and IBC local community care missions for all their assistance and support of this project.
In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said,
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
