Dear Istrouma Family,
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for opening your
arms and hearts to my family and me this past weekend! Istrouma is a remarkable church with a sweet
history and bright future. We are
excited that the future is one that we will share.
God’s plans for our lives are greater than we can ask or
even imagine (Ephesians 3:20-21).
To the degree that we walk with Him, we will enter into the abundant
life He promises. The map that
reveals the path we are to walk is His Word! For that reason, one of my top priorities among you will be
the prayerful preparation and delivery of biblical messages.
Another priority will be to pursue an integral walk with God
personally. I know that I cannot
lead effectively where I myself am not going. Pray for me that I will walk after Jesus in such a way that
I can say, as did the Apostle Paul, “Follow my example, as I follow the example
of Christ” (1 Corinthians 11:1).
This means in my own devotion, my marriage, my family, and my witness.
Finally, I desire to love you as a shepherd would the sheep
of his flock. We want to befriend
you as does the Friend who sticks closer than a brother. We want to share, not only the Word of
God in all of its transforming power, but our very lives as well.
We hope to be there by August 1 ready to “finish the race
and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given” (Acts 20:24)! Pray for us and we do for you.
